I was born in and grew up in Ohio (woohoo!). From the time I was born my dad was in full time ministry doing all different jobs such as youth pastor, associate pastor, senior pastor, and District Youth Director for the state of Ohio in the Assemblies of God. Being a “PK” (pastor’s kid) meant getting a chance to be involved in many areas of service including drama teams, worship teams, children’s church leader, youth leader, coordinating the youth snack bar and Bible club leader at my public high school… to name a few. Needless to say, when I was getting ready to leave for college I felt I had done my fair share of working in “The Ministry.”
After graduating high school, I was headed for Valley Forge Christian College in Eastern PA, majoring in Psychology. The beginning of my freshman year I was selected by a local church to serve on their team of 8 students to lead the children’s ministry. During my first few months there, it became clear that I was to be open to God’s calling into full time ministry, and I went through the process to add a Children’s Ministry major to my workload. I continued to serve at the church throughout college, gradually stepping into the lead director role as other students graduated or transferred. When I graduated in 2008, the church offered me a job as their children’s pastor.
My senior year, I became friends with a theology student named Josh. Josh and I lost contact with one another after graduation, but reconnected as friends almost a year later and were married in August of 2010. The next spring, God told Josh and I to start praying, because he was going to reveal to us the next step in our ministry journey together. Soon, God brought us into connection with some guys I had known as Ohio youth pastors when I was in high school. Their names were Konan and Gary… the leadership at C3 Church! Working in ministry has been an absolute blast, especially since partnering with Josh, and I’m excited God has brought us here to serve the kids and families at C3!
